How this calculator works

Worked example

You have a 2.8 GPA over 30 credit hours and you are taking 15 hours next term. What does a term of straight As do, and what term GPA reaches a 2.9?

  1. Quality points so far: 2.8 x 30 = 84.
  2. A term of As adds 4.0 x 15 = 60 points: (84 + 60) / 45 = 3.20.
  3. For a 2.9: (2.9 x 45 minus 84) / 15 = 3.10 needed next term.

Straight As lift a 2.8 to 3.20; a 3.10 term GPA reaches a 2.9.
